About Us
Socialserve is a nonprofit, bilingual call center that connects people to housing and provides supportive, second chance employment. We provide professional housing location and listing services, assist displaced households in finding new housing, offer waiting list opening support, and gather housing data for regions and municipalities across the United States.

Commitment to Second Chances

Many of our employees have experienced barriers to employment such as incarceration, addiction, and/or housing crises. With intensive training and support, our team members gain transferable customer service, sales, and data management experience. Our goal is to share what we’ve learned and encourage other employers to provide second chance opportunities.

A Brief History

Socialserve was founded in 1999 with a handful of staff creating and supporting online housing location services. Over time, we became committed to Second Chance employment and internal programming, even as we expanded our service offerings and coverage areas.

In 2015, Emphasys Software acquired the Socialserve.com technology, sales, and marketing departments, allowing the nonprofit Socialserve to focus on providing tailored, professional call center support for the diverse array of housing initiatives emerging across the country.

Looking Ahead: Fostering Economic Mobility

Socialserve is working hard to add internal programs for staff to foster their economic mobility. We are developing an internal workforce development program that will expand our employees’ earning potential. As team members grow and develop, some are promoted into positions of leadership, while others move on to new, exciting career opportunities after building their resumes at Socialserve. Both are positive outcomes!

Our internal revolving loan program has provided over 250 employee loans, paired with budget counseling, to staff in crisis. Our goal is to establish a second revolving loan program with partial forgiveness for completion of professional development and certification programs outside the workplace.
